Rural health infra set to get better in J&K

State plans sub-health centre and health centre along the roads in rural areas after every five and 10 km respectively

Jammu and Kashmir government plans to set up a sub-health centre and a health centre after every 5 KM and 10 km respectively in rural and hilly areas to improve health infrastructure in the state.

"Roads, education and health sectors are high on the agenda of the government. The matter regarding setting up of a sub-health center at every 5 km and a health center at every 10 km in rural and hilly areas of the state has been taken up with the union health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad", minister for roads and buildings G M Saroori said on Thursday.

Saroori addressing a public gathering at Klem Gund after laying foundation of 30 meter Girder Bridge being constructed over Nallah Wishow at a cost of Rs 10.54 crore, in Anantnag district, said the state government is optimistic to get the approval in this regard.

The minister said every unconnected and inaccessible area would be linked through a road network. He also laid foundation of several road projects.

Earlier, he flagged off a bus from Anantnag to Kishtwar at Khanabal, establishing direct link between Kishtwar and Kashmir Valley.
