Senior ministers will also be present on the occasion. Harish Khare, the information adviser to PM, shall conduct the press meet. According to him, 250 TV news channels and 1,500 accredited correspondents of the print media will be accommodated in the Vigyan Bhawan to join the commemoration of the sixth anniversary of the UPA regime.

A drill is on in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) for the past one month to collect all the details of the success stories of the ministries from the secretaries for making them part of the PM's presentation to the nation.

The same day on May 24, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi will host a reception in the evening to the MPs of Congress and allies. The Hotel Ashok is the tentative venue, while the final decision will be taken with the PMO's consent, Congress sources said.

They said the AICC has already sent out a circular to the presidents of the party's state units to organise functions in the respective state capitals highlighting achievements of the UPA during its six years in office.
