"In its commitment to provide clean environment to its passengers, WR has introduced the facility of on-board house keeping. The express trains will be cleaned at regular intervals throughout its journey," Western Railway PRO C David said.

The facility has introduced the service in 27 trains including Saurashtra Mail, Firozpur Janta Express, Paschim Express, Garib Rath Express and Avadh Express.

"Mobile numbers will be displayed at the entrance of the coach so that passengers can call for the cleaning services," Davisd said.

Under this scheme, one staff for every three reserved coaches of professional house keeping agencies is deputed for the entire journey of the train, he said.

WR has also introduced the system of getting feedback from the passengers about the work done by the house keeping crew during the journey.
