Meals are going to get costlier for Delhites with the government subsidy of Rs 40 on LPG gone.

State finance minister A K Walia on Monday announced the withdrawal of the subsidy during the budget presentation. Thus, the price of a 14.2 litre-capacity cylinder will go up to Rs 325.

The Rs 26,000 crore budget had Rs 675 crores for DTC for new buses. Special 'non-stop' DTC buses will be started for 50 routes in the city.

DTC buses will be equipped with GPS from now on. The government is also planning the construction of 26 foot-over-bridges. Municipal Corporation will be getting Rs 83 crore for street lighting.

The transport sector got Rs 4,224 crores while the health sector got Rs 1,443 crores.
