Central doctors can work in Delhi health services

CAT turns down plea by Delhi government doctors to quash the move

GN Bureau | April 23, 2010

The central administrative tribunal (CAT) has turned down a plea by Delhi's government doctors to set aside a move to allow members of central health services to work in Delhi health services. The CAT told Delhi administrators doctors welfare association (DADWA), the petitioners, that if doctors wanted to work in the DHS, it was their own choice.
“Even if there is some difference, the applicants are not being forced to give their option, nor are they being told that if they do not opt, they will go out of service. It is their own sweet choice,” said a CAT bench.
In a plea before the tribunal, DADWA had challenged the Delhi government’s decision allowing CHS members to work in DHS.
“If the conditions of service, including promotions... are not acceptable to them, it would be their choice not to opt,” the tribunal said while rejecting the plea.
