Srikkanth launches e-learning initiative

Portal to be named careerstrokes.com

Chairman of the National Senior Cricket Selection Committee Krishnamachari Srikkanth today launched a e-learning initiative "careerstrokes.com that would offer career consulation to graduates.

"The sport is a religion in India and based on the experience of winning the World Cup in 1983, I have embarked on this new venture to enhance the career prospects of young students, he told reporters here.

The portal would offer live Webinars (inter-active web seminars) and online discussions with experts in the field of training and management mentors.

The learning process will be based on 12 basic modules, which include Goal setting and career planning, leadership skills and management, stress management, communication skills, motivation and confidence building, business awareness and the art of writing, he said.

There is a socio-economic aspect as we would like to tap rural candidates as the internet penetration is pretty strong amongst them. We have priced the e-learning programme at Rs 990 for a three-month period, he said.

The portal concentrates on motivating, improving awareness levels, and providing career enhancement skills to undergraduate/ graduate students and young professionals to make a mark in life, Srikkanth said.

Keeping in tune with modern trends and the panache of the youth to adhere to modern gadgets, we have made the Internet as the primary tool to reach out to students and young professionals across the globe, he said.

The panel of experts included Ram Charan  an MBA and engineering graduate with vast experience in mentoring young professionals, Ajith Kumar  an MTech from IIT who has mentored several management graduates and emphasises on continuous learning and C Meenakashisundaram  who comes with 30 years of experience in marketing, training and sales.

GSR Business Services, a systems integration and consulting company with operations in the US and India, will be one of the technology partners of careerstrokes.com, he said.
