Satyam Mahindra focuses on getting back old clients

Company has 350 active clients as compared to 500 clients before scam

After restatement of accounts, Mahindra Satyam is now focusing on bringing back its old clients who have left the company after the multi-crore scam exposed last year, sources close to the development said.

Many of the clients have left due to the uncertainty loomed over the company in the absence of certified accounts.

Now the company feels it is on the stronger wicket, they said.

"The company is hopeful of getting at least 25 per cent of the old customer in its fold before the end of the fiscal," sources told PTI.

The clients who are yet to come to the company fold include State Farm Insurance and Coke.

CP Gurnanai, CEO, Mahindra Satyam, then Satyam Computers, earlier said the company had about 500 active clients before the scam broke out in 2009. Currently, it has 350 active clients. He had said that upto March 31, this year, the company added 44 new clients.

"The company had initiated discussions with most of the big customers. Now that the numbers are out there should not be any problem. The picture will be clearer after the announcement of the quarter's results next month," sources said. .
