If Mumbai Police Commissioner D Sivanandan has his way, Microsoft chief Bill Gates might lend his expertise to make Mumbai Police tech savvy.

Responding to a query as to when would city policemen be capable of handling cyber crime, instead of relying on specific cyber experts called every time, Sivanandan said, "We can call experts from abroad also. There is no rule that only a specific person can be called."

"Whoever wants to help, can help us. We can afford to pay ...what is that...Bill Gates.. we can pay him," he quipped while announcing 'Mumbai Cyber Safety Week 2010' here today.

"There is provision in law and we can call for experts such as engineers, doctors or chartered accountant for help.

In science development, it is not necessary for police to know everything. We may call experts from America also. There is no rule that only select person can be called. It is an open world. Whoever wants to help, can help," he said
