Maharashtra Government today decided to introduce Performance Monitoring and Evaluation System (PMES) for assessment of various on-going projects by state and Central governments.

"It is a kind of evaluation process the state government would be introducing for all the departments. Prioritising various projects, the ministers of departments concerned and the officials would prepare Results-Framework Document by March 31 for assessment," an official from CMO said.

The Results-Framework Document of each department would be put up on the department website by April 15 every year.

They would also rate themselves depending on progress of the works.

The government had organised for pre-PMES workshops in May 2010 which was attended by all secretaries in the government.
