Professional networking website LinkedIn today announced two key appointments for Indian operations, as it looks to boosting its advertising revenues from the country.

It has appointed Dhiman Mukherji as Director (Advertising Sales) and Sunny Saurabh as Head (Advertising Solutions) to expand and strengthen LinkedIn's presence in India, LinkedIn said in a statement.

The professional networking website claims to have 75 million members worldwide, of which over six million are in India.

Mukherji will lead LinkedIn's advertising sales efforts in India, while Saurabh will focus on developing customised solutions, which help companies build their social media strategy around the website.

Prior to joining LinkedIn, Mukherji was the Head of Sales at AOL and has also worked with Google. Saurabh has been associated with UTV New Media, MySpace and Google.

LinkedIn is building an in-house advertising sales and solutions team to directly engage with Indian companies to develop and deliver custom solutions for its customers, it said.
