Information about traffic congestion on Delhi roads and alternative routes on real time basis during Commonwealth Games are now just a click away.

Log on to www.delhitrafficpolice.nic.in, Delhi Traffic Police's website, for an interactive page which provides the user with an interactive platform.

The new platform added to the the website provides the user information about the roads to be avoided, where congestion is there and the suggested alternative routes.

"We are launching this specialised link keeping in mind the Games. This is dynamic and blockades and suggested routes are displayed in real time," Ajay Chadha, Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic), told reporters here.

Dynamic traffic information like congestion on roads, suggested detours and data on traffic restrictions are overlaid on online map besides suggestions about alternative routes in case of blockade or restriction.

"Real time display of restrictions due to accidents, waterlogging and traffic jams also will be shown on the map," Chadha said adding, the link will provide information about traffic restrictions for the next 20 days.

This link will be active even after the Games.

The application suggests alternative routes even without blockades and the routes are displayed on the map while directions are listed in a separate window.
