Himachal chief secretary to focus on IT in Government

Sandhu assumes charge as HP Chief Secretary

Rajwant Sandhu, a 1975 batch IAS officer, today took over as Himachal Pradesh Chief Secretary.

Prior to his new assignment, Sandhu, who belonged to the HP cadre, was Secretary, Department of Drinking Water, in the Union Rural Development Ministry.

She also served as Joint Secretary, Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, and Special Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj, in the Central government.

Conservation of water and other natural resources and optimum use of Information Technology would be her priorities, she told reporters after assuming office.
