Targeting the new digital media, entertainment firm Eros International Media Ltd today said it is working with social networking sites for film distribution.

"The distribution of movies through social networking media could be a two fold strategy. One is that we give them content and monetise it through advertisements, the other is through subscription," Executive Director Eros International Media Kishore Lulla said.

"Digital new media is a growing area of focus for us as India is going to open up in a big way," he said.

The Indian film industry is projected to grow at a CAGR of 8.9 per cent between 2009 and 2014, to reach a total market size of Rs 136.7 billion by 2014, according to FICCI-KPMG report.

Indicating potential of digital media, Lulla said, "We launched a small channel on internet Youtube.com/Eros Entertainment, in last one year we got 350 million views of that channel and it became India's number one channel on the internet globally."

He said, "we have not launched movies on it yet." The Mumbai-based company is promoted by Eros International Plc and Eros Worldwide FZ LLC. The company introduced Hollywood model of film distribution in India.
