DPE to hire agency for IT training to its employees

Invites tenders from Delhi based computer training firms

PTI | July 12, 2010

The Department of Public Enterprises will hire an agency to provide IT training to its employees, a move that comes after its decision to outsource performance appraisal of blue-chip PSUs.

The DPE, the nodal agency for all central public enterprises, has invited bids from Delhi-based computer training firms interested in the job.

"The DPE has taken the initiative to upgrade the IT skills of its personnel and impart formal training to them in a professional manner," an official said.

The DPE intends to train 200 employees in computer programmes like power point presentations and Excel sheets.

The training syllabus would be finalised by the DPE.

Earlier in May the DPE had sought services of professional agencies to monitor blue-chip PSUs. The objective was to ensure that the operational and financial freedom given to top PSUs were well utilised by them.
