DPCC to soon start online processing of NOC applications

All the interactions will be through e-way

PTI | July 20, 2010

For the convenience of entrepreneurs, the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) will soon start online processing of their applications for issuing no-objection certificates.

DPCC member secretary AK Ambasht said the Committee has tied up with the National Informatics Centre (NIC) to install a software enabling a wide range of e-facilities to the users at the click of mouse.

"We will soon initiate the facility. This is being done to save the applicants from running around our offices, besides easing paper-work for our short-staffed department.

The web-enabled applications would also mean quick response," he added.

Seen as an industry-friendly move, services like consent to operate, grant of authorisation and cess collection will be included in the ambit of online services so that the officials can easily check the online status of the consent and take steps accordingly.

They (entrepreneurs) will have to come to office only when they will be needed to submit original documents, otherwise all the interaction will be through e-way, a senior environment official pointed out.

States like Haryana and Gujarat have already successfully initiated such hi-tech steps for the benefit of the users.
