Delhi launches website with info on TB

Web portal developed by the Delhi DOTS Program, features interesting games based on TB information

A website 'DOTS Delhi' giving detailed information on tuberculosis for the convenience of patients by chief minister Sheila Dixit.

"Around 86,000 lives of TB patients have been saved during last ten years. Death rate has come down from 22 per cent to 2 per cent whereas the success rate has jumped from 30 per cent to 87 per cent," Dikshit said at the function.

Developed by the Delhi DOTS Program, the web portal has features like Geographical Information System (GIS), popular social interactive links, interesting games based on TB information etc.

The government has been providing free diagnosis and treatment of TB at 585 DOTS Centres, 192 Quality Assured Laboratories and 24 Chest Clinics across the state.

The government has also been bringing awareness about precautions apart from disseminating a few tips for care of patients, health minister Kiran Walia said.
