Cyber crime: Wanted criminal nabbed by Delhi cops

Accused has siphoned 6.23 lakh from complainant account

A man wanted in a number of cyber crime cases and who was on the run after allegedly cheating a city resident by hacking into his bank account were arrested from Delhi, police said today.

Ganesh Kumar Agarwal alias Prince, a native of Kolkata, was nabbed by the sleuths of Cyber Crime Cell of Hyderabad Police yesterday, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detective Department) J Satyanarayana said.

The accused, along with two Nigerians, got transferred Rs 6.23 lakh from the complainant's account and made purchases through an online auction website last month, the police officer said.

The accused, after hacking into the bank account details of the complainant, made at least six fraudulent transactions by online payments and investigation revealed that the crime had been committed from Delhi, he said.

Based on credible information, the city police went to Delhi and arrested two Nigerians, Frank alias Emanual and E Celestain Chibuki, on July 11 in New Delhi.

However, Prince was nabbed yesterday, the officer said.
