Alcatel-Lucent opens regional delivery centre in Bangalore

Centre fourth such RDC in the world

Alcatel-Lucent today announced it the launch of a new regional delivery centre (RDC) here.

The new RDC provides services to manage, operate and maintain multi-vendor fixed and mobile telecommunications networks based in India or anywhere around the world, the company said.

"This is the first centre of its kind for the company in the Asia Pacific region, and the 4th in the world.

Alcatel-Lucent's other RDCs are located in the US, Poland and Romania", it said.

Said Vivek Mohan, President Services Business for Alcatel-Lucent: "Our new centre houses sophisticated systems, equipment and personnel to manage our customers' network operations so they can concentrate on their core business, while reducing operating expenses and increasing network quality."

The 8,000 square feet Bangalore centre is already operational and providing round-the-clock services for more than 10 Alcatel-Lucent customers. It is staffed with more than 100 network operations specialists.
