Is the PM right in suggesting liberalisation of labour laws?
The prime minister has suggested that it is time to review labour laws as they "unduly protected" the interests of those in employment and hindered the creation of new jobs.
The proponents of liberalisation argue that the laws on shedding man power during lean times pinch industrial units, especially export houses, which makes them cautious about hiring. They argue that the units, faced with such laws, make conservative recruitments which mars the chances of other employables.
At the same time labour activists point at the profligate violations of labour laws by most industrial units and have repeatedly called for stricter implementation of the existing laws.
Do you think that the laws impede employment and unduly shackle industry? Or do you think that liberalisation will further worsen the situation of the Indian worker? Post your thoughts.

In short, does the PM want everything to become like Government offices?
