Kanan Jaswal

I took voluntary retirement in July 2002, seven years before my time, from the State Bank of India, where I was Assistant General Manager because I wanted to devote myself to combating corruption and establishing the rule of law in the country. In 2008 for months I campaigned against the U.P. government`s action in having an Ambedkar memorial over 84 acres of parkland and city forest destroying therein even the last blade of grass. In 2009 a friend and I moved the Supreme Court against the wanton destruction and got a significant relief in the court`s judgment of the 3rd December 2010.
