With an aim to strengthen good governance in the state, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today announced several measures including regular camps in rural areas for expeditious disposal of pending cases.

After holding a two-day conference of District Collectors and SPs which concluded here yesterday, Gehlot said here today that the officers suggested various ways to strengthen good governance.

"A campaign 'Prashashan Gaon Ke Sang' (Administration with Villages) would be organized in rural areas of the state to redress grievances of people concerning power, water, medical, social justice, agriculture from November 10 to December 31.

After that, one day multi-purpose camps would be held every month at Tehsil level where officers would listen to and redress complaints on the spot," he said.

"We want to strengthen the E-Governance in the state hence an 'E-Sugam' scheme will be launched from April 1, next year. It will work for public grievance at the 244 Sub-Division level," he said.

"Annually, Rs 1 Crore in all will be allocated to police stations for resources just to conduct proper investigation. Beat system, dialogues between the police and community groups will also be further made stronger.

In order to ease investigation, 35,000 police personnel working in the field would be provided CUG mobile phone facility and other resources so that their functioning regarding investigation is not affected," he said.

He said, "District Collectors and SP though conduct visits and hold night camps across their respective districts, but we have asked them to follow the practice on regular basis and establish proper dialogue with people."

Gehlot also announced free swine flu vaccination for pregnant BPL women, besides a survey of disabled people to initiate a scheme providing them hearing aids, tricycles with the help of NGOs.
