The Karnataka Sahithya Academy has launched its website, karnatakasahithyaacademy.org - offering detailed information on writers in the state, academy Chairman M H Krishnaiah has said.

The academy was in the process of uploading information on the various awards that Kannada writers had received, on the website, he said.

Under the ?Swanta Kaviteya Odu' programme, the academy had started videographing a reading of five poems by the authors at their residences.

Such readings by 65 poets had been videographed so far.

Various poems rendered by children were being uploaded on the website,he said.

Krishnaiah said programmes were also being chalked out for birth centenary celebrations of litterateurs, including G P Rajaratnam, V K Gokak, Rao Bahadur and Joladarashi Doddanagouda.

He said the academy would be celebrating the birth centenary of S S Malawad at the Karnatak Arts College in Dharwad on Friday. The programme will be inaugurated by poet Channaveera Kanavi.
